My wife and I are both resort people and enjoy avoiding crowds, so how much time in each town/area?

How is May/early June for travelling these parts of Sicily?

If you don't like touristy places you should keep Taormina to a minimum - one night, say. Personally, I'd give Siracusa (Ortigia, not the new town) as much time as possible. But with 8 days I hope you're seeing some other places as well. There are several recent TRs and threads on Sicily here - do a search.

I agree, it is time for some research. And for real advice, you must tell us more.

When? How? Do you hike? Museum or art buffs? etc etc
