Shuttle Bus in Madrid
Hi All, I'm planning transportation to and from Madrid airport to my hotel and need some advice. My hotel is NH Paseo del Prado and is almost directly across from the Prado.
DH (rip) and I almost always took a shuttle or a cab because we were so tired and didn't regret spending the extra money. I saw an Airport shuttle service under the Viator link and am wondering if anyone has used it. €31 looked like about the same price as a cab.
Any advice? Thanks, TDu

I'm going to Madrid next week, and there is the Airport Express which runs every few minutes with 3 stops, including Cibeles and Aticha, as mentioned above by jelopez33.
There is also the Aerocity shuttle service, which picks you up and delivers you direct to your hotel for a total of 23 euros for up to 3 people. However the big disadvantage with this is you may end up having to wait for other passengers.
I am told a taxi shouldn't cost more than 25 euros to the part of town you are travelling to.
I'm staying near the Palacio Real and am planning on a combination of bus and metro.

I think DD always used Aerocity when she lived in Madrid. That's been 8 years ago so things may have changed.

Flat 30 euros for taxi?
In Oct, we went from Salamnca to T2, there was very little traffic...
With the surcharge , it came to 23euros.

Yes, it is a new flat fee of 30E. Some tax companies are complaining it is too high and will deter passengers from taking them.It was not a popular decision.
Bus 5E plus taxi ( 5-8) to your hotel door. The bus stops in the SAME place the taxis wait so there is not more distance there. However, you must pay for luggage carts now at Barajas. You put a coin in a machine and then the machine gives you a metal thing to put in the cart.
Not sure if it takes credit cards. Another unfortunate decision at the airport.
I used to think they were sooooo considerate here with all the free carts.
