Bus from Madrid to Granada
We are planning to fly into Madrid and take the Alsa bus to Granada. Anyone have advice on the easiest/least time consuming way to do this, and does anyone know how far the Alsa bus station is from the city center of Granada?
Thanks!

Not quite sure what you want here. Are you wanting directions from the airport to as quickly as possible depart with ALSA?
The Granada bus station is on the edge of the city and is 20 to 30 minutes by bus to the centre (Cathedral) with a 3 or 33, depending on traffic.

Depending on which bus you take from Madrid to Granada, it's a 4-1/2 to 6 hour trip, plus the time to travel to Madrid to catch the bus and then take the city bus into Granada.
Flying is more expensive, but you can be there in 1hr 5min, plus the time it takes the bus to go from the airport into the city center. The cost of a flight is as low as €83/person, round-trip.

Far, far more comfortable and civilised to take a train through the scenery, not a bus droning down a motorway.
There are cheap fares from around €28 in Turista (2nd) class if you pre-book. If you splurge on a Preferente (1st) class ticket you can use the Sala Club lounge in Madrid with free tea, coffee, beer and snacks, and on the train you get a hot tray meal with wine served at your seat.
Book at either www.renfe.com or www.petrabax.com/renfe

'petrabax site quotes $93 for tourist class from Granada to Madrid. is this correct?' - ? - If that is what it says, that is what they want to charge you.
I have no difficulty in seeing prices on the RENFE site for the journey G. to M. on 27th April.
