Should I switch our itinerary?
We are planning our trip in June to Italy, and the way we have it planned now is to go to Tuscany first, then Cinque Terre, in Levanto. Our flight leaves at noon from Milan meaning we will have to leave Levanto fairly early to ensure dropping our rental car off.
I really only want to stay in two places on this trip to Italy, so would prefer not to pick up and move the last night just to be closer to the airport. Would it be worth it to switch our trip around to go to Levanto first, and then Tuscany, for an quicker drive to Malpensa? Or is the drive time not that much different?
Thanks for any help you have!

Arrive at the airport 9:00-9:30, and we're staying just south of Florence. Not sure what happens to our flight if we miss it... we probably have to pay for another one because we have a connecting flight out of Heathrow.

According to en.mappy.com , Levanto to Malpensa Airport is 259km and takes 2h33 to drive. Florence to Malpensa Airport is 357km and takes 3h27. So changing your itinerary would put you even farther away.
Personally, I would never spend my last night so far from my departure airport, but I'm pretty risk averse. You got some nice suggestions on your other thread for places to stay near Malpensa.

I would definitely make the drive the day before departure and stay near Malpensa. So many things can happen to delay you and a drive of 2.5 hours is a long one when you want to be at the airport by 9:00. Leave the afternoon before and have a relaxing dinner when you arrive.

Go a lot I would never stay that far away
Always drive in the night before Castello Dal Pozzo
Oleggio Castello booking.com or one of the Boscolo
Hotels in Milan nice it is a big risk to drive
that far on a flight day weather traffic problems
you will miss your flight plus you would have
to get up at like 5AM to even have a shot.
If budget Novotel nice for me in the past free shuttle.
Good luck!
