Hi Clifbob,

i'm roman, for three days is not very different, near Vatican you have Trastevere and Testaccio quarter that are very animated at night, near spanish squere after 12:00pm don't offer many to do, i can advice a superior B&B in trastevere "Your nest in Rome" Cristina (the owner) i now personally her, here is a link of many B&B in Rome all with google map so you can have a better idea!! http://www.allhome.eu/lodging-search...oma&cat=28

I hope you'll have nice time in Rome !

Could you post the address of the Vatican convent? Some locations can be quite convenient, and others not so much.

But in general, the Spanish Steps location would be most convenient.

Hey Discovery,

If we stay at teh convent near the Vatican..there is an 11pm curfew. does that make a difference in chossing where we stay considering late night entertainment isn't an issue since we have to be in our room by 11pm

Looking at Google Maps, my recollection is that the convent is in a very nice area, and one that I prefer in many ways to the Spanish Steps. But Hotel Panda is in a nice area too, and I think you would generally find it more convenient.

Check how close the bus lines are to the convent. According to the positive TripAdvisor review for this convent, the bus lines are quite close.

Would you want to attend any concerts? Sometimes these don't start until 9 PM, so you could be in a rush to get back.

Or, similarly, operas could go past your curfew.

Some churches have concerts at night. I remember seeing posters plastered around town. I can't remember many details, but you may be able to find them online. I think some were at the English church (although that may not be the official name).
