Walking in Seville is one of the most pleasurable travel walks you'll ever have
Yes, Seville's Barrio de Santa Cruz, Cathedral's square area, Alcazar, up La Giralda are some of the sights in Seville you can spend hours exploring. Do not miss Calle de las Sierpes with great shopping (leather shoes!!; great pastries and coffee!). These sights are all adjacent to each other.
That said, Florence nor Seville are going anywhere. Do both, just plan three trips ahead (like I do!!).

My 21 year old daughter is in Seville for a 3 week, 3 credit, study abroad. She is living with a host family and has to walk 20 minutes each way to the school. All we hear is how wonderful the city is, how beautiful the weather has been (about 65 and sunny since Jan 3).
The only scare she has had in the city so far is that an ATM machine ate her Visa card at 11pm, so she had to go back to the bank in the morning to retreive it...just a malfunction with the machine, not her card.
She has never sounded so happy!!

Yes, it is walkable for you
And you have public transport if you need it too.
As you have visited Italy yet..leave Florence for another trip and come to Seville..I'm sure you would like it
It's a place difficult not to love, really...(oh, well, you can hate it in August..too hot !!!)
