Traveling to Salzberg, Vienna, Prague and Budapest. We have 4-5 days in each area. What is best to see around those areas outside the cities?

Between Salzburg and Vienna there is the Danube valley.

Pictures 09 through 59 might give you an idea of what to see:

I would definitely go to the lakes around Salzburg and to Hallstatt for example, and yes the Danube/Wachau area around Vienna.

I would definitely go to Cesky Krumlov near Prague. It is a charming medieval town with a large castle complex.
