semi-final itenary to Spain, please critique
hi
This is our semi-final itenary for Honeymoon in sept,2002, (we have to stop by Paris for personal reasons)
1-fly to malaga, pick car and drive to Ronda. Stay for 4 nights. I know some would say that is too much but we are using it as a base for day trips to Malaga, white villages, and Granada
2- drive to Seville stay for 5 nights.
day trips: Carmona, Cadiz, Cordoba
3-fly to Barcelona, stay for 6 nights
day trips: monastery and maybe a day at the beach depending on weather
4- fly to Paris stay for 5 nights, possibly take day trip to Bruges.

Any comments?
thank you
Sounds great. My only comment is that the trip seems to be all sightseeing & no relaxing. This is your honeymoon, not just a regular vacation.

Just a suggestion, but why not stay at a resort type of place in or near Marbella & make your day trips to Ronda & Granada from there? You can get some rest at the beach in the AM, & do your travels later in the day. I got a tip from a friend that you should start your day trips at 10 or 11 AM because if you leave earlier you run into all the tour buses.

You might also want to add a 1/2 day trip to Figueres from Barcelona to see the Dali Museum.

I will be going to Spain at the end of June & will post a trip report when I return. Starting in Barcelona, flying to Malaga, renting a car. Staying in Estepona with day trips to Seville, Ronda, Mijas & Morocco. Driving to Granada with a stop at the Nerja caves. 2 nights in Granada and then home.

Agreed - Ronda is scenic, but out of the way and certainly not 4 days worth.

The coast road from Malaga to Motril is certainly worth the drive, as are the drives up into the Sierra Nevada (also a good place to stay and handy for Granada). I have also stayed in Almunecar on the coast which has a good beach and is easy driving distance to alot of places

It is sometimes hard to get agreement and I disagree strongly with the last one. I think the 4 nights at Ronda with the capacity to do short rips around may well prove the best part of your trip! If I have not already sent them, e-mail me and I will attach some notes on Andalucia and Barcelona that I have made.
