Segway Tours on Human Tansporters?
Has anyone used this unique tour of Paris. You whizzz around on these wheels?
Sounds like fun, but I might be too embarrassed to do it.

We did the night time Segway tour and it was one of the highlights of the trip. From what I've seen posted by others that have done a Segway tour in Paris, generally everyone really had a good time.
My group did garner a little bit of attention everywhere we went, but this was a couple of years ago, so maybe people are more used to seeing them now.
We had to wear bike helmets and bright blue vests with reflective tape all over it - I know we looked like complete goofballs, but the tour was a blast.

Jocelyn_P also did the tour with her DH last summer and enjoyed it...http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34642840
Did you check out the one-minute video set to "Sweet Emotion?" How funny is that! The tour looks like it could either be cool or a bit dorky... I'm not sure which, but it seems like it would be fun, nevertheless.

SeaUrchin,
We did the daytime tour last June. It was simply wonderful. We had to wear helmets, but no reflective vests - perhaps that is only for the night time tour.
We did it on a Sunday, when there was a big military exhibition int he park, so there was lots of pedestrian traffic and crowds. We still did not have any trouble, even though one of our party fell off her machine in an arguenent with a curb. No problem, as you are only a few inches off the ground.
Every time we paused, folks would come up to us and want to talk about the machines, but we did not feel like a spectacle; more an object of wonder.
A totally upbeat experience. Try it, you will be pleased.

I know I will feel like a dork but my 12 year old son really wants to do this when we are in Paris next month so I guess we will. I want to do it at night in case I have un petit probleme. (Won't be so noticeable?) He also is eager to see the Salvador Dali museum so what can I say?

My husband and I took the daytime Segway tour of Paris on April 10. It was so much fun!!! We went along with an Australian family (Mom, Dad & 12 year old son). I am far from coordinated, but our guide, River, made sure everyone in our group knew how to ride the Segway and was comfortable. It was worth the price, in my opinion, and I would do it again. We were the center of attention everywhere we went. Don't be embarassed - have fun!!

I see Segway tours in San Francisco occasionally. What can I say... certainly you won't be whizzing, just moving along.
Those people look like they embarassed to show they're having fun. This is the best description I can come up with
