Scotland's Mountain Wilderness
This wasn't my trip but the trip of a friend who went scrambling up some 'munros' in the snow. This is a great end to winter before spring takes hold in these northern areas: http://tinyurl.com/ylnxusw

The Cairngorms- well, these are the Monaliadh, but they're kind of next door- are well known for "the long walk in". If you fancy something with a shorter walk (if a bit more vertical- go to the West.

Loved the photos especially the one of Ben Alder. Earthbound Fodorites can get a cracking view of Ben Alder from the main A9 road near Dalwhinnie, just try not to crash the car while you're transfixed.
Beul na Sporan is shown on maps under its anglicised name of Balsporran.
Shame on you Sheila for not knowing how to spell Monadh Liath
