I have a quick question. Sorry to highjack this post.
is it reasonable to plan a drive from Callander to the airport (EDI) on the morning of departure?
Our plane departs for DC ar 12:30.
Google says 53 minutes to the airport but I do no trust that timeline.
thanks

Totally feasible. I've done it in 45 mins, but most often about one hour. Easier on a weekend. On a week day it would be a little more iffy because of the commute traffic approaching Edinburgh -on the M9 - maybe count on 1.5 hours max. The rental car return is near the terminal. Leaving Callander around 7:30 or 8AM would get you there in plenty of time.

Thanks Janis. We originally planned to return to Edinburgh our last night but since we are going to be in that area I think I will tack another day on the beginning in Edinburgh and just travel from there to the airport. We never have the luxury of flights leaving that late for the US normally.
i am trying to get ahead of the practicalities since August is such a busy time.
