SBB Half-Fare Card (HalbTax)?
Hello,

I'm sorry to be raising a question on the Swiss railcards yet again; but I have searched through the archives and haven't really found an answer to what I am looking for. I am interested in the year-long half-fare card, "HalbTax", and just want to know if non-residents are eligible to apply for it, or is it restricted to Swiss residents only? (I am, understandably, not Swiss)

I will be traveling to Switzerland atleast a couple of times in the coming year, and so I find this works out to be better than any of the other ones.

Many thanks for your time.

Cheers.

According to the CFF/SBB (Swiss Railways), you don't need to be Swiss to get a Halbtax-Abonnement, for which there is a 1-year validity option as well as other lengths - and, the thing is actually the size of a credit card, so it fits easily into wallets. You need a form of identification - a passport from your country is the most obvious - and a passport-size photo, and the price is about 150 Sfr. for one year. Call 0041-900 300 300 for more information if you need it. P.S. There are also 1-month cards available for SFr. 90.-- if you're only going to be in Switzerland over a 1 month period...
