Hello - my wife and I are travelling to Greece in mid-June and we are trying to get from Santorini to Ephesus. We thought we could probably take a ferry from Santorini to Paros and then from Paros to Samos but we have had a lot of difficulty confirming that there is in fact a connection. We have already booked the Blue Star Naxos from Santorini to Paros on June 16th. I thought Hellenic Seaways had a late night ferry going from Paros to Samos but now I am not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Tygrigg, I will be travelling from Naxos to Samos in September and looked up Hellenic Seaways to get you the details and it appears there is no ferry. There most definitely was the last time I checked which was around April and arrived in Samos at 04.30am. The ship sailed from Pireuas and stopped on Paros and Naxos.

I am hoping someone will reply to your query as I am as confused as you are.

Sorry when I tried to check the ferry nothing is coming up.

For the past couple of years you could get to Samos from both Naxos and Paros, but now it seems that you will have to go from Santorini to Mykonos, where you will catch the Hellenic Seaways ferry to Vathi, Samos. From Samos you will then take the ferry across to Kusadasi and then a taxi or bus from Kusadasi to Ephesus. It will probably be necessary for you to spend the night in Vathi for the next ferry to Kusadasi.

So I have no problem booking from Thira/Santorini to Mykonos and the timetable seems to clearly mark a ferry that goes from Mykonos to Vathi/Samos but when I try to reserve it for any day it says that there is not ferry available for that route.

The schedule for June is not yet available but should be very soon. You can wait, but if you want to book a cabin then I suggest you keep checking the website until they open the booking function for June and then book right away. Otherwise, don't worry, the ship won't be full. Because of the slowdown in tourism this may be an unnecessary precaution, but I'd do it anyway just to be sure I got the cabin.
