Santorini Airlines

I live in Florida and I'm having a hard time pricing airline tickets to Santorini- do they even have an airport?- sorry for my ignorance. Even coming anywhere from the states, how did you get there? What airline did you find most reasonable? It seems that the travel to and from is going to cost more than accomadations; is that so? Any help?

It's been several years since I've been there, but I flew from Athens to Santorini, then from Santorini to Mykonos, and finally from Mykonos to Athens, all on Olympic Airlines. I bought the tickets from a travel agent in Athens via the internet and they sent me the tickets. Don't remember exactly what we paid for tickets, but I think it was about $150 per person for the three flights.

You will have to fly to Athens from the States then on to Santorini, both Olympic and Aegean-Cronus airlines fly several times a day so you shouldn't have to wait to long for a connection. I booked a flight for my Dad online it was 75 euros one way in September, a travel agent who books hotels as well can perhaps get you a better price.

Just got back 2 wks ago Santorini to Athens was 78.29 EU on Agean. Flight was booked & paid to my hotel. I'm from Fl. & we flew Delta via Atlanta, JFK to Athens. There are other connections out of Miami, check them out.

Thank you very much. Is it a very long flight from Athens to Santorini? Is it easier to have transportation to the hotel arranged by the hotel?

You can book Aegean on line. Do a search for Aegean Air and you will find them, they have merged with Cronus. We flew that route 2 weeks ago and they were great. Have heard horror stories about Olympic and had splendid service with Aegean and they have earned awards as well. I believe they work with Northwest and possibly Delta when people are flying from the States to Santorini. We booked ourselves on a later flight to allow for time to get our bags and picked up the courtesy phone as soon as we arrived and found out we could grab an earlier flight. It was no problem changing to that flight, but would've cost more to take a later one had we missed ours so you may want to plan along those lines.

Hi Lee,

Flight from Athens to Santorini is relatively quick - 30/40 minutes. Some hotels offer transportation to and from airport but it's very easy to just grab a taxi at the airport. Depending on where you're staying in Santorini, it will be relatively cheap (island isn't all that big) Airport is near Kamari area, about 15 minutes from Fira.
