santa lucia to mestre-- venice
just double checking to fill in the holes in my itinerary...
is it easy to get from the santa lucia train station to the mestre train station? my hotel is on the mainland w/ a shuttle to & from mestre, but most trains seem to go into santa lucia... what are my options?
thanks!

Hi GB,
You can find the schedule at http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en
Enter Venezia for both "From" and "To".

I think I'm reading the question differently. Are you saying your hotel provides a shuttle between it and the Mestre train station but you're worried about picking up a train at Santa Lucia like maybe to go by train to somewhere else? If so, every single train that goes to Santa Lucia also stops at Mestre, so that is no problem. In other words if you are worried about taking a train to Florence and you see that the train goes from Santa Lucia, don't worry. Just wait at Mestre for it to make its stop there and get on then. Forgive me if that isn't what you mean.
On the other hand if you are talking about getting into the main part of Venice, then yes when your shuttle leaves you off at Mestre, you can take one of those very quick, very frequent, and very cheap trains to Santa Lucia, then take a vaparetto or whatever from there.
