San Sebastián
I'm very excited to be finally heading to San Sebastián in July, it's been on the bucket list forever it seems. I will be travelling with my hubby and our 6 year old twins.
Looking for recommendations for restaurants and places to stay! my slate is blank for four days and can't wait to start planning!
Thanks in advance!

Look at www.maribelsguides.com for excellent information for the Basque regions of both Spain and France. I believe she includes rentals too. Her various guides were so helpful to us when we were in this region.

With children that small you might want to consider renting an apartment. The Spanish eat meals very very late in the afternoon and evening, and having the option of a kitchen to feed children who are habituated to eating earlier can be an asset. There are lots of reputable agencies renting apartments in that area, with reviews posted online.
The most talked about restaurants in the area are probably more formal and elaborate than where you want to go with six year olds. Instead, read up on enjoying "pintxos" and small plates ("raciones"). Childen are welcome at the places that serve them early in the evening.
There is a sweet old fashioned amusement park in San Sebastian that you take a funicular to reach. Your children might enjoy visiting so long as they don't expect Disneyland state of the art.

Good advice re. apartment - would your kids still be awake when the kitchen opens at 10PM in the restaurants? You can get tapas before then at the bar, but every night?
We've used www.housetrip.com with good success on several continents - it is now owned by Tripadvisor but still operates under its own name.
The comfort of home, with your own fridge and familiar items for breakfast etc. takes
a lot of the stress and inconvenience out of a trip.
Just in case - while doing research, realize that the local name (in Basque) for S.S. Is Donostía.

We did a half day wine (txakoli) tour with Kepa of Basque Cooltours and thought it and he were terrific. They also have a sheep farm/cheese making tour which is highly reviewed and no doubt better suited for your group. The view from Monte Igueldo (take the funicular) is amazing and the little amusement park at the top, as noted by frencharmoire, will be perfect for your kids.

This link might give you some valuable info, going to San Sebastián with kids: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/de...ichelin-stars/
Children are everywhere here at almost all hours, very child-friendly as in the rest of the country. Kids are playing in the heart of the Parte vieja/Old town Plaza de la Constitución - with all the outdoor terraces and pintxos bars - until very late.
We use to stay in hotels or small, often family-owned and basic hotel standard hostals here, but we've also had good experiences with renting apartments through Rentals Collection http://www.rentalscollection.com/en/
