San Sebastian to St Jean de Luz
We need to get from San Sebastian to St Jean de Luz by public transport. Can anybody tell me the easiest way please?
I am looking at the ALSA bus but it has terrible reviews and at Oui bus, which doesn't seem to have reviews but may be better.
I have looked up trains but the information is confusing, so any clarification about that would be helpful too.
I would also be interested to know what it would cost for a taxi.
Thanks in anticipation.

The confusion is probably due to the fact that the train between Donostia-San Sebastian and Hendaye is commuter rail run by Euskotren, and not the national company RENFE.
For timetables see: http://www.euskotren.eus/es/presentacioneuskotren
When you get to Hendaye you walk out of the Euskotren station and the station for the trains to France is just across a courtyard.

We've picked up the local bus in front of the train station in Hendaye, no problem, but since it's a 'local', it takes a while to get to Saint-Jean-de-Luz.
The TOPO leaves Amara station every 30 minutes for the trip to Hendaia (Hendaye). The trip takes 37 minutes.
The ALSA bus goes to Biarrtiz, not Saint-Jean-de-Luz. The PESA bus from Donostia has only limited service to Saint-Jean-de-Luz.
The ATCRB bus also runs from the train station in Hendaye to Saint-Jean-de-Luz (www.transports-atcrb.com), about a 30-minute ride. Price is 2€. The TER, Hendaye-St-Jean-de-Luz-Ciboure, takes 14 minutes and will cost you 3,30€.
A taxi or private transfer will take you around 20 minutes (depending on traffic) and cost 40€ to 60€.

Well those are two separate trains - RENFE mainline trains to Hendaye from SS/Donostia main RENFE station - rather infrequent links at times - and the commuter Tren Euskto which runs a completely different route and goes much more frequently - a delightful ride as it goes right down some main streets in Basque towns to Hendaye's SNCF French railways station.

Thanks for the feedback. PalenQ could you tell me where do we pick up the Tren Euskto in San Sebastian please? Is it the Renfre station?>
No from RENFE station right in the town center - Robert gives it above. Not sure what TOPT means but must be the same as Tren Eskro???
