San Francisco Examiner Sunday Travel section

For San Francisco residents, this Sunday's Travel section has a few pages about Paris if you are interested.

Johnny Jet, at www.johnnyjet.com, has links to many of the Sunday travel sections. I'm not sure if the Examine is included, but it may be worth a try.

Francophile, could you post the link to the Examiner article?

I don't know about a web address for the Examiner, but the main SF paper, the SF Chronicle, can be found at www.sfgate.com.

Underhill has the correct website. I checked and it looks like the Travel section wasn't updated; it's still dated May 2nd.

Here's the URL: http://www.sfgate.com/travel/

Francophile, isn't this link to Chronicle articles. I think the Examiner is a tabloid now.

And today's SF Chronicle travel section has a big spread on France, including a lengthy article on budget hotels and guidebook recommendations. There's even one about biking the route of the Tour de France.

Yes, to Betsy and Underhill. That is correct, the Examiner is a free independent paper now. I'm used to the old name-sorry. It is now called the SF Sunday Chronicle. I think I'm getting too old to remember things

Once upon a time there were 3 major SF newspapers: The Chronicle, the Examiner (operated by Hearst), and the afternoon Call-Bulletin. At some point the CB disappeared, leaving the Chron and the Examiner. A few years back the Chronicle was sold to the Hearst syndicate (and has never been the same, IMO), which was then forced to sell the Examiner, which was bought by a family that turned it into a tabloid. (I think that paper has again been sold, however.) So the Chronicle now remains as the primary newspaper for the City.
