Salzburg hotel recs needed

I am looking for a two to three star hotel in central Salzburg. There will be four adults and 2 small children, so we're looking for a suite or an apartment (or even just 2 rooms). Does anyone have any reccommendations for nice, clean, family-friendly hotels? We would like to be walking distance to the historical city center.

Thanks,
Cricket

You might try a search of "Salzburg hotels" for a detailed list, but here is one suggestion.

Hotel Am Dom is on Goldgasse, right near the cathedral and Mozatplatz--great Altstadt location. Room 11 is a two bedroom accommodation, with good sized bath. the breakfast is simple, but fine, and Herr Bachleitner is a very gracious host. The rates are modest--around 100-120 Euro for four people, I'm guessing, depending on when you plan to be there.

We stayed here in 2002 and thought the room was a great value, given the location, cleanliness, and helpfulness of staff.

Here is the website: http://www.amdom.at/

Good luck

Pension Nonntal is a family friendly B&B within walking distance of most of the sights. Otto the owner is a hoot.

We just went to Salzburg with our family over the Easter holiday and stayed at a great hotel, the Wolf-Deitrich (they have a web-site). They had family rooms with a sitting area and a TV/VCR combo (they loaned out English videos for free). There was an indoor pool and free internet connection (they even have a computer on site to use). The hotel is a short walk to the center with lots of restaurants and shops near-by. We highly recommend it!!

We stayed at the Wolf-Deitrich and it was wonderful for families. We had a family room (no 55?) with a seating area and two double beds. They have tvs with vcrs built in. They have a bunch of videos that you can borrow, including the Sound of Music. The indoor pool was a big hit with my kids as well. We highly recommend it!
