Salzburg during Mozart week. Yes? No?

Just realized the week we're contemplating a visit to Salzburg is actually Mozart week. Surprisingly, tho, we got an offer last week of about 69e a night at the Laserhoff. Seems pretty reasonable considering it's a peak week.

Anywho, has anyone been to Salzburg this time of year? Is it a mash of tourists?

It's less a mash of tourists than a parking lot of Mercedes, BMW's and similar cars.

I don't know anything about the Laserhof, but the price is very (suspiciously) low. Where is it located? If it is cloise to any bus or RR line, its location is probably fine. You don't want to be in Salzburg with a car during the Mozart Festpielwochen. (P.S. The festival is more than just a week).

You´re mixing things up.

Mozartwoche (Mozart week) is in January, Salzburger Festspiele are in July/August.

While the Salzburger Festspiele are a huge (society) event, the Mozartwoche is much less known and crowded.
