Salisbury, UK B&B

Does anyone know of a good B&B in the Salisbury, Stonehenge, Avebury area? Thanks.

Fisherman's House is close to Avebury and convenient to Stonehenge/Salisbury.

It is an absolutely lovely place w/ gardens down to the river -- the photo w/ the swans is a perfect representation.

Breakfeast is served in the glass walled conservatory looking down over the garden. And the rooms are wonderful - posh linens and fresh flowers everywhere.

I've stayed there once (and tried a 2nd time but it was full) and will try again any time I need a place between the M4 and the M3

Not a B&B but a small hotel The Grasmere Hotel (http://www.grasmerehotel.com) - I had friends who had good things to say about this place. I think I would stay there just for the view: http://www.grasmerehotel.com/views.htm

Altho this is not a B&B, the Kings Arms is a small, charming, very old hotel where we stayed right across from the cathedral in Salisbury. Their pub pre-dates the cathedral!! (ie earlier than 1400 AD) As my husband said, "Imagine, the cathedral construction crew used to come here for a pint!"

And do be sure not to miss Salisbury Cathedral in between checking out the main sites. I've written up a bit of information about it for you here:

Do the Tower Tour, you won't regret it.
