Very interesting. I assume that you mean that the normal fare of 1.49 GBP one way (available on arbitrary dates for much of June, for example) - - plus 25.80 GBP taxes and fees (27.20 GBP total)... is now reduced to 10 GBP with all taxes and fees included - - so it genuinely is a sale, with Ryanair "buying down" the taxes and fes.

But at the same time, I assume that you still had to pay the customary 9 GBP extra if you want to check in one bag (of under 15 kg, since it requires airport check-in) and to be allowed to pay with a credit card.

The ad on their web site says 10 GBP each way, including all taxes and fees.

So, which did you actually pay? 10 GBP? 19 GBP? 20 GBP? or 38 GBP?

Curious minds want to know.

Best wishes,

Rex

Each way was 0.01 + 4.99 in taxes etc...for a total of 5 GBP each way = 10 GBP for the whole trip. As I am an EU citizen I can check 0 bags and do online check-in for no charge. I am only taking carry on, but it is 4 GBP each way to check a bag...and I believe it is 4 GBP each way to pay by credit card (I pay using Maestro so its 70p each way for a grand total of 11.40GBP total) Seems like a good deal to me!

When they do their genuine sales with all taxes and fees included, they are definitely a good deal.

Main advice for others looking is to check exactly which airport you're flying into and how long it takes to get from it to the centre of your actual destination. In some cases they do fly to the airport you want, in others, as many of you already know, it's at least an hour on coach to the headline destination.

But there are a lot of great destinations listed and the prices are good value!

I'd book something right now but with 9 weeks of trips already booked for next year I just do NOT have any budget at ALL for hotels and food, even for a weekend break!

Will have to sit this one out!

Oh, if someone would watch my kids, I'd definitely fly from Basel to Dublin for SFr. 75.-- return.

What a deal!
