RVO Bus Pass
Has anyone ever used the RVO Bus Pass? It's the ticket from Regionalverkehr Oberbayern which the rider can use the RVO bus system for 5 days in one month for 27 Euros. My question(s): Where to purchase, ease of use, and any comments or suggestions? Thanks!

I have ridden RVO buses with regular fare and with a Bayern-Ticket, but I have never used the 5-Day pass. If you want to know more about it, it is described on their website at http://www.rvo-bus.de/site/rvo__bus/...bus__pass.html, in German, of course. If you need help with the translation email me at [email protected]. Note that it is valid for 5 days in one month.
I would imagine it would using it would be no different than using a Bayern-Ticket - I just showed it to the driver. I also imagine that buying one from the driver would be easy; they might require exact change, but no problem other than that. The website doesn't indicate any special places to buy the pass. The page I gave you above has an email link. You could write and ask them where to get the tickets. Again, I can help with the translation, if necessary.

Thanks, Larry for your prompt reply. I've used the RVO many times with regular day tickets. I've also used the Bayern Ticket, which is an outstanding value. I've only used the Bayern Ticket on trains, but it is good to know that it is valid on RVO buses. I was able to translate the web pages fairly well, but was unable to find out where to buy them. I assume the bus driver is able to sell all tickets on the bus. I enjoy reading other traveler's experiences in using these products. Thanks again for your help!

I've searched the RVO website pretty thoroughly today, and I can't find anywhere where it says one way or the other. They do have a page where they give "Verkaufstelle", but they only show four in all of Bavaria, so I can't think that people just get passes there. People probably do order monthly and yearly passes by mail, but I think the 5 day pass would be too much of a spur-of-the-moment thing.
I took a picture of the column of buttons on an MVV/DB ticket automat in Munich, but I don't see a button for an RVO pass.
Be sure to let us know when you get back.
