Don't you have russian stores where you live? Just check what they sell. If not, Stolichnaya is in every supermarket. If it's good, we have it here.
I wouldn't bother - russian alcohol is all over the states, and for you it will be heavy and breakable to lug on the planes.

I realize that we have Stolichnaya in the states, however, sometimes there are things that are sold in the country in which they are made that are not sold in the states...... I was just looking for a premium vodka that maybe we don't sell in the states to bring back.

I agree with the OP. I'm a vodka lover and I try to bring back a bottle or 2 of local stuff everytime I'm traveling. In many instances it's the bottle design by itselif that makes me buy it, other times I'll talk to few local bartenders and/or store clerks. There are MANY brands that are not available in US.
Have not been to Russia for few years now, so can't recommend anything, but just follow my advice above and you will do ok.
Have a great trip!

Sure, no difference: Russian Vodka is the same everywhere. I tasted it in 5 countries to say nothing about Russia where I am from.
Well, "Nemiroff" is the latest popular brand - it's pepper staff.
Otherwise than that, ask for any "Crystal"(the name of the plant) which is classics.
Buy it in shops, and the buzz will be fine.

JL: Since most of us don't live in cities large enough to have Russian stores, I'm sure you'll find many good brands other than Stoli while in Russia.
My friend brought me a bottle from her recent trip to St. Petersburg. She had no idea what was good, so she asked the clerk for a recommendation and bought what was suggested. The label says "1894 CTAHDAPT" and "Premium Platinum" but I haven't opened it yet, so have no idea how good it is.
Have a great trip, and I'm sure you'll find something to your liking.
