Seriously, SA looked what they are - a team of very tired old men, and it's not a surprise that they failed to win a single match in the last southern hemisphere tournament. Japan proved not only what enthusiasm can do but also that you don't need to be 20 stone to do it.>>

saw the first half, Wales looked all fingers and thumbs as they tried to get through in the first 15 minutes, while, those give away penalties were just sad,
still feel SA had it a bit easy and the team had no intellectual challenge.

cold - we love the Hakka too. NZ used their alternative version tonight - not as scary as the normal one, IMO. My favourite is the Fijian - it's not very far away from the sort of war dance they'd have done before setting off to invade a rival island.

Watching then All Blacks playing France.
Yikes - the AB's have certainly turned up! Situation normal - wingers scoring tries, Dan Carter's kicking game on song, Richie McCaw penalised for offside!
C'mon the Blues! Although they must be confused - they're wearing RED! Sadly it doesn't look like they can take the AB's out

This match is getting boring. What has happened to the French?
As for Wales, so close, so close.
Up to Ireland to beat Argentina and give the northern hemisphere a representative. Sorry but I can't see Scotland being able to do it.

The aka the All Blacks did today is called Kapo o Pango, and was specifically written for the All Blacks to represent the different cultures that are now playing in the team. There are players of Samoan, Tongan, and Fijian heritage as well as Maorii, as well as Pakeha's of course.

Just to legitimise this thread by making it travel-related:
I was in Brittany last week, and visited a bar for coffee. Although there is little rugby played in Brittany, they had a sign up to say that they would be showing the France-Ireland match that evening. I told the amiable barman that we would be enemies later, and he corrected me: we would be adversaries; it is only when playing the English that they became enemies.
A bad week for French rugby: losing to Ireland when they were thought to have a chance of winning; team morale and discipline collapsing during the week; and then being hammered by an All-Black team that found its best form.
I'm a bit worried about our lot taking on Argentina without some of our best players (and Johnny Sexton is out). There is a possibility that the last four will all be from the southern hemisphere. If that happens, we will have to kill this thread in the Europe forum.

What a dominant performance by the All Blacks!
Interestingly, I was in Toulouse a week or so ago, a city which is a real hotbed of rugby. Lots of shops there with rugby gear, especially featuring Les Bleus and the local Stade Toulousain side. What amazed me, though, was to see on one of the main shopping streets, a shop dedicated to All Blacks gear!. I hope it wasn't trashed after today's match.

as for the new Haka, I'm a traditionalist and prefer the old one, but chacun a son gout as they probably don't say in Paris [I can remember a whole thread about that once!]

Brutal!
I was in a spit and sawdust pub in Wellington waiting for the Kiwis v Australia 1st semi-final of the 2003 World Cup.
There were a few boisterous Maori blokes in the pub, and suddenly just as the teams came out of the tunnel these Maori blokes got together and belted out the Haka.
I almost had a involuntary natural reaction!
