Hi all, planning a road trip across Slovenia,Croatia,Bosnia & Montenegro in May-June. From Split we'll drive to Mostar for 2 nights & then a night in Kotor before driving to Dubrovnik. What will the best & scenic route to take ? Will part of the drive be on the scenic coastal route from Split to Dubrovnik ?

Use www.viamichelin.com to plot scenic routes. Get a good map and that will tell you whether a route will be on the coast or not.

Google gives two possibilities, both probably scenic as there is not much in terms of industry or cities between the two when taking the inland roads. We did that road trip when it was only dirt roads which may have been paved since then.

Are you fully committed to driving? As a driver, you can't really appreciate the scenery. Honestly, you couldn't pay me enough to drive the Dalmatian coast -- the scenery is simply too stunning and the road really does require a driver's attention, IME.

There are convenient and comfortable buses that you can take from Split to Mostar and then to Dubrovnik. And you can go by bus from Dubrovnik to Kotor and back. See rome2rio.com for more options.
