Rome Tours-Good Experience

Did some research on the Forum for the name of a good tour company for a number of tours in Rome. Came up with Context Tours and we booked three tours with them-Imperial Rome, The Vatican and St. Peters, and a wine tasting.

While all the Tours were strenuous, perhaps more than we seniors wanted, they were all very well done. The docents were young, knowledgeable and experienced in leading a small somewhat unruly group.. Phillip Ditchfield led the Imperial Rome tour, Heather Hanson showed us a fine variety of wines and two wine bars and Gregory DiPippo led the Vatican walk. We enjoyed them all. Mr. DiPippo was particularly effective with his common sense approach to the Vatican and his explanations of the historical context of the art and architecture.

I want to pass on my thanks for the recommendation and report the good result with this firm. The tours were expensive but in this case we got good value.

RJD,

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the tours. I did two with them on my last trip and felt they were well worth the money.

The wine tasting tour must be a newer one. Did you see the dining event? I think I'll do that one next time.

We've used this company in Rome and Venice and Paris; sometimes private tours and sometimes in their group offerings. Have yet to be disappointed and agree with your overall recommendation for sure.

We'll be in Rome in a few weeks. How long is the St Peter's and Vatican Museums Tours?

We returned from Rome and Florence last week and we booked 3 tours in Rome with Context Tours and also booked the airport pickup from Rome FCO airport to our hotel with them. (Marriott Flora)

We booked, Ancient Rome, Culinary Stroll and the Vatican tour. All of our experiences with this group was fantastic! I would recommend them. They groups were between 6 and 4! That was nice!

The airport pickup was there waiting for us with a sign. It took a while to get our luggage but he waited!
