Rome to Tivoli

Has anyone visited Tivoli from Rome? Can you tell me the best way to get there, how long it takes, and cost?

I’ve done some reading on Tivoli, and it looks beautiful. What were the best parts, must-sees? Thanks!

- Alice

I've wanted to visit there too, but I have one spare day and then I want to see the villa borghese and/or Tivoli. Has anyone done it? Is there enough time for both? I would think not.

during my last trip to italy, i stayed at the d. inghelterra near the spanish
steps where they offered tours. we did take the tour from rome to the tivoli
gardens. we also stopped to see the villa of adrian. i really enjoyed tivoli; very beautiful. we left rome at 3 and returned at 8; it was a long tour
but definitely worth it.

Go to www.twenj.net click-on "Rome" and then "Excursions" on the sidebar. Those are my directions from a Nov99 trip-report, "Let's Go Rome 2002" still has the same directions so I'm sure they are still valid. Regards, Walter

i do not remember the name of the tour
company; if i find the name with the
info. in the next few days i will forward it to you. we arranged the tour the day before with our concierge.
they arrange for a van to pick up those
in the vacinity and they take you to the
main location of the tour co. where you pay and board the assigned bus. i believe that the cost for 2 was $75 usd.
(for the villa of adrian and tivoli).
hope this helps.

The tour company is Appian Line and they have a PM tour that takes about 4 hours. It is worth doing.
