Rome to Florence

I'm planning a trip for this August; driving from Rome to Florence. Looking for all the great little places to stop/stay throughout Tuscany. Would love any suggested itineraries for this route.

Hi T,

You might want to look up <Tuscany> in the "search this forum" box.

You might want to refine that search to "Tuscany and swimming pools"

When in Siena, we stayed at the Borgo Grondaie (www.borgogrondaie.com). It was convenient with a car, yet not to far from the old town of Siena, had beautiful grounds, a pool, and had apartments with kitchenettes if you prefer. Was a little hard to find, but was fairly inexpensive compared to other places I had looked at. We day tripped from there as Siena is fairly centrally located in Tuscany. Although not one of the more popular destinations, we really liked Volterra as a hill town to visit.

Put "Henry" and "StuDudley" into the Search box (without the quotation marks, of course). Both gentlemen have compiled itineraries of Tuscany that they are prepared to e-mail on request.

And yes, a swimming pool in August is a good thing to have...
