Rome restaurant with views

Hi:
I'm taking my family to Rome during thanksgiving weekend to celebrate my Parents' anniversary. Can anyone recommend a good restaurant with good views? Any suggestion would be helpful. Thanks!

These hotels have rooftop restaurants although I don't the food is especially great at any of them, and they are very overpriced: Forum, Eden, Hassler, Minerva, Atlante Star, Raphael. Of course there is the Hilton's La Pergola, which has excellent haute cuisine and prices to match. I think the best "views" from Roman restaurants are of the quiet, romantic piazzas so many restaurants are set in.

You may want to check out this web site:

On my last trip to Rome, I had dinner one night at Lo Zodiaco. It was built on top of Monte Mario, a hill on the north side of Rome. The area used to be a lovers' lane. The views were stunning, and the food was good, but not outrageously priced. Also, if I'm not mistaken, there was no specific dress code. (But of course, everyone there was nicely dressed, but not "formal", as in tuxedo or gown.)

Buon Viaggio,

I've had dinner at the Hassler, where the view is great, food is good, but it is a little stuffy. And very expensive.

I did not find La Pergola as expensive as the previous poster stated. We planned a dinner there 2 years ago to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We selected it based on comments on the forum. However, that night fog rolled in and there was no view. However, the food and service was so good, it made up for the lack of view.
