Rome - Regis, Intercontinental, or Westin?
Any thoughts on how the Regis, Intercontinental and Westin compare? Any comments on which has the most comfortable rooms and the best gym would be much appreciated!

We've stayed at the Westin twice, and enjoyed it both times. nothing at all to complain about, except we had to walk a lot or take cabs.
I think the Intercontinental is the best located of the three, and IMO the St. Regis is the least favorable loaction of the three.

I've stayed at the St. Regis and loved the rooms and hotel in general. Extremely comfortable and luxurious; the staff goes out of their way to be friendly and helpful. We didn't find the location to be detrimental. Either walked everywhere, even with two small children, or took the buses and Metro right across the street.

I agree about the Sofitel; it's a very nice hotel. We stayed there two weeks ago. It's quite small considering it's supposed to have over a hundred rooms. Rooms and bathrooms are decorated nicely and are good size. The breakfast buffet has good selections of everything. And the rooftop terrace is specatcular for the views. The walk is a bit tiring if you have been walking the whole day as it's a sort of steep incline to get to the hotel.
