St. Regis Rome or Westin Excelsior?

Would love to hear any comments on the above hotels. We are a couple with 2 teenagers. What are your opinions in regards to location, room size, comfort, etc.
Thanks in advance

We've stayed at the St. Regis with our two daughters and enjoyed it very much. It is a lovely hotel with an excellent staff. They don't have quad rooms so we had two connecting doubles. Great space, but very expensive. Breakfast is extra unless you pay with an Amex Platinum card--then it is included in the room rate. Although the St. Regis is not in the historic center (neither is the Excelsior)we found it easy to walk almost anywhere and several bus lines and the metro are located right across the street. Stayed at the Excelsior many years ago. I'm not sure if they have quad rooms either. It is used by several tour companies which sometimes results in the staff being not as attentive.

We stayed at the Excelsior in 2004 with our 2 teenagers and plan to do so again this summer. Our rooms were beautiful and roomy, with excellent service, and in a lovely neighborhood. They also don't have quad rooms, so you'll have to get 2. We didn't eat there (after my son got a Coke in the bar for 9euro), but easilly walked almost everywhere. (We did take a cab to the Vatican.)

I can't imagine you'll be unhappy there or at the St. Regis.

Have a great trip!
