rome, Pope

I have been to Rome, but I can't seem to remember the days of the week when there is a chance to see the Pope. We are bringing our son with us and I would like for him to have an opportunity to see the Pope even from afar.

General audiences are on Wednesday mornings; the Pope speaks from his apartment window on Sunday at noon.

The general audiences are most often at 10:30 am.

If you want good seats at the general audiences, you have to get there well in advance and have tickets, which you can obtain free.

Look at the information at these two Web sites:
http://www.pnac.org/general/visiting_vatican.htm
http://www.santasusanna.org/popeVati...peVatican.html

There is no seating for the Sunday blessings at noon.

Both take place in St. Peter's Square.

Zerlina,
Thanks again. So the Pope comes out on Sundays also? Is there a mass too?

Perhaps English is not your first language...

There is NO Mass, either at the general audience or at the Sunday blessing.

At the general audience, the pope circulates on the popemobile through St. Peter's Square, pronounces a sermon in a number of languages, groups from different countries are introduced, who may sing briefly.

At the Sunday blessing, the pope speaks very briefly in a number of languages from his apartment window overlooking St. Peter's Square.

Dear Zerlina,
Yes, English is not my first language. Thanks very much for the info. I'm quite in haste now because we toom last minute travel plans. I don't even know where the hotel we booked is located. The concierge is not too helpful. Thank you, your information is so helpful and I will be able to plan our trip so much better.
