Rome - Naples - Sorrento Train?
Hi,
Can someone give me the URL for the Rome - Naples - Sorrento. I've seen it before here and did a search but now can't find it.
Also, will these be running on 1/1/08 ?
Thanks Diana

www.trenitalia.com
Rome-Naples then change to CircumVesuiviana trains to Sorrento
Google CircumVesuiviana to check those schedules.

OK, here's what I've found out for future reference:
- It appears that the trenitalia website does not show schedules further than 2 months out.
- Several places on the web site, say that trains are NOT continous for major holidays. Apparently Jan 1 is a MAJOR holiday in Italy, so I expect given our nec. routing to get from R -> S, I've decided to change our itinerary. It's just too iffy.
NOTE: the Leonardo Express into Rome does run NO MATTER what (even during strikes they say.)
Another note: it appears that in order to get from the Rome airport to Naples, you still need to take the LE to Rome Termini to catch a direct (3 different speed) to Naples. Hope this helps someone!

Trains from Roma to Napoli run every day of the year. There will be a few amendments to the usual timetable on 1 January because it's a public holiday, but you'll have no problem getting to Napoli. There are usually at least two trains an hour between Roma and Napoli.

Yes, I figured that out, but what concerned me was getting from Naples to Sorrento quickly on that date, and then I realised that we couldn't get back to the Rome airport area on the 5th to have decent time for Ostica Antica that day. So I flipped the itinerary.
If you could comment on it, I'd really appreciate it! THX

Hi Diana - I think the Circumvesuviana would run the normal 'Festivi' ( - Sunday/public holiday) service on New Year's day.
