Rome hotels - need help
We have a choice between the Locarno Hotel at a rate of 200E or the Albergo Del Senato at a rate of 245E. Is the Albergo worth the extra? Also, any room # recommendations? We will be there April 18-22/04.

The Albergo del Senato is an excellent choice, but I do not know the Locarno for comparison sake.
I think you might get snickers from Italians (or maybe even seasoned Italy travelers here on this forum), if you refer to "the Albergo del Senato" as "the Albergo"... since Albergo means Hotel.
Best wishes,
Rex

I haven't stayed at the Locarno but have stayed at the Del Senato twice. I wouldn't stay anywhere else from now on. The Del Senato is as central as you can get. The majority of rooms have a gorgeous view of the Pantheon. Some rooms have small balconies (the doubles on the sixth floor) and some have terraces (the junior and senior suites). We stay in Room 602 which is a Senior Suite and has a very large L shaped terrace with north and west views over Piazza della Rotunda. To me, the extra 45 Euro per night would definitely be worth it.
