Rome Hotels

Hi...I've checked the other conversation threads to research Rome hotels. Many of them look fantastic but are above my budget. Any suggestions for rome hotels near the Spanish Steps or Trevi Fountain for somewhere between 100-125 Euros? Thanks. Helene

I like the Smeraldo which is near Campo de Fiori, a great part of Rome. A double is 135 Euros a night including a good breakfast. Look at www.tripadvisor.com for more info on this and other hotels.

HeleneW, I haven't stayed here yet, but will in January. The location seems ideal, and all the reviews seem to agree. The hotel is probably as good as you can expect for the price and area. The reviews here on Fodors are better than on TripAdvisor.

Also look at http://www.hotelpanda.it for a real budget hotel. Also http://www.eurocheapo.com/Rome .

I was going to suggest Smeraldo as well. Stayed there a few weeks ago and loved it.

I have stayed at Residenza San Pantaleo at Piazza Navona a few times and like them very much(not everyone has had great experiences there, but I have.)I believe a double is about 110 euro.

Thanks for the advice. Do any of you have a URL for the Smeraldo. I can't seem to find it. Thanks. Helene
