We are booked at the St. Regis, but are having second thoughts about the location and have been receiving some negative feedback about it. So, we are considering switching to another hotel.

Can anyone recommend a good honemoon hotel - romantic, a bit luxurious and good location, for under $450-500?

The St. Regis is an extremely luxurious place but a lot of folks (here, in particular) probably wouldn;t think of staying there because of its location..unfortunate but true.

You might try looking at the deRussie although I'm not certain as to whether or not it is in your price range.

We stayed at the Hotel de Russie in June - it's pricey but maybe less so out of season. We loved it and the service and location couldn't be better. Congratulations!

For location, you can't beat Hotel del Senato on Piazza della Rotonda. From room 603, you're looking at the Pantheon. In the morning, you watch Rome wake up. In one direction is the Vatican and Trestevere and Piazza Navona. Northeast is Borghese. East is the Trevi Fountain and Spanish steps. Read the reviews on venere.com for other's opinions and pictures.
