Rome-Hotel Cicerone

Has anyone stayed at this hotel? How would you rate this hotel on the American rating system - 3 star, 4 star, 5 star. What is location re key sights in Rome. Do rooms have queen/king beds, Hotel restaurants how were they, hotel services, cleanliness, etc. Anything we should know about this hotel?

My relatives stayed here in 2001 and absolutely loved it. It's towards a 4* but not quite. I didn't hear my relatives complain about anything and the beds are queen size I think. You can always email the hotel and specify what you want.

It's located in Prati, an area that's away from the busy areas of the Spanish Steps, Pantheon, etc. and closer to the Vatican. But that's not to say it's isolated at all. Just cross the Tiber and in about 20 mins. walk you are right where the action is-esp. at Piazza Navona. I know because we stayed nearby the Cicerone at the Visconti Palace.

I stayed in the Cicerone (Chi-Chi-ro-nay)LAST week. The hotel is modern, done all in marble. Our room had doubles , was quite attractive. Very clean. We had breakfast in the breakfast room but did not use the restaurant. It is 15 min to the Vatican and 20-25 to SP steps etc as the other poster noted. There are restaurants, grocery stores, banks coffee shops nearby. This is NOT a tourist area

We stayed there couple of years ago while on tour. Far as I recall, it was fine, agree it is 3* close to 4*. Nice area, close to the river, on Vatican side of Tiber sort of behind Castel San Angelo. We walked to Navona and to Plaza del Popolo and enjoyed the area, what little we had time to see of it.
