Rome Hotel and Itinerary Help Please
I am planning a honeymoon to Rome and Florence in November during Thanksgiving. I am trying to decide between 2 hotels in Rome. The Hotel San Carlo and the Residenza Paolo IV. I have reserved room 59 at the San Carlo based on the information I have received from this board. Is this room as nice as I have been reading? Also any information on the Residenza Paolo would be appreciated.
The planned itinerary is to spend 4 days in Rome, 1 day in Capri, and 2 days in Florence. Does this sound like a good way to spend a week in Italy? Thanks for the input.

Just a reminder that November can be rainy and the seas rough. The boats won't run to Capri if the sea conditions are unfavorable and you may not be able to get there, or once there, be stuck there. The end of November is going to be very quiet on Capri, not necessarily a bad thing, but many shops and restaurants will be closed for the season. Capri is at its most beautiful during the summer and I don't think it is worth the trip down there for just one day.

I've only seen Room 59's terrace at the Hotel San Carlo, and it is splendid! The hotel itself is very well-located and well-run.
If I were you, I would scrap Capri altogether that time of year.
If you love museums, go to Florence for 2 days, but otherwise, I would do it as a day trip from Rome. Take the Eurostar, and you'll be there in an hour and a half. The train runs several times each day. Rome is great, and has tons of stuff to do and see, no matter what month of the year.
Congratualtions on your impending marriage, and buon viaggio!

I have to agree that it would be a long, exhausting trip to Capri. Probably not worth it for a day. Enjoy Rome another day (that would be my suggestion, anyway!). We were in Capri in April and while it was nice and sunny and we enjoyed hiking and eating, it was still to cool to go into the water, and the sea was to rough to see the blue grotto. I imagine it might be even worse in November. Have a great honeymoon!
