HI. Does anyone know the direct hotel website for the Grand Hotel De la Minerve in Rome? When I try to look for rates, getting many websites offering deals for this hotel... Would like to check the actual hotel website first... Thanks!

Elaine-Hi and not finding a website for [email protected]. I even tried [email protected] ( since hotel name is Grand Hotel Minerve. I know they were originally part of the Crowne Plaza hotel group, but when I called them, they told me the hotel is no longer associated with them... Hmmmm... weird..

Try www.directa.net/latium/rome/hotels4/minerva.html OR www.world-stay.com/hotels/dist3/1936/ Grand-Hotel-de-la-Minerve-Roma.htm
It is now owned by Hotel-Invest and the most photos are on this site:
www.hotel-invest.com/printinfo/minerva.htm
My family and I stayed here in April 2002 for one week. We loved it! Service, location, and accommodations were impeccable. Enjoy!

WishIwasthere and Elaine: Is it worth the money to upgrade to a superior or deluxe room at the Hotel Grand Minerve or are the standard rooms fairly decent? Not sure if I want to pay the extra for upgraded room if I can stay at the Hotel De Russie in a classic double room for almost the same price.... Hmmmmm stuck on those 2 hotels...
Thanks....
Thanks....

GailLK,
My family had two connecting standard rooms. They overlooked Bernini's elephant obelisk and Sopra Minerva. The rooms were perfectly fine and each had a standard hotel marble bathroom. Everything was superbly cleaned and fresh towels provided daily. There was a bit of noise coming in from the street. If this bothers you then I'd bring those soft earplugs you can get in the airplane packs. The rooms also are not huge, but I don't think many European rooms would qualify for that description. When we travel, we try not to sleep anywhere that isn't at least as nice as our home (in terms of comfort and cleanliness). This hotel more than fits the bill. The location is first rate as we walked everywhere - including St. Peter's and the Coloseo.
