All the flights from the US land at terminal C. THere is a train (about 1/2 km) to the main terminal building and then you go down escalators to immigration, followed by luggage claim, followed by customs and then you exit on the ground flood at the left end of the terminal (as you face it from the front of the terminal.)
There are restroom and an ATM to your right as you leave customs and the train station can be reached by going to the left as you leave customs then going right at the underground passage under the street and then back up the escalators (all the way to the top).

Fibonacci,
Thank you for your response. I have friends picking me up at FCO, and neither of us have ever been there. Should I tell them to meet me at the from of terminal C main building on the left side as you face it from the front? Thanks again

Go to this website.
http://www.adr.it/shoppingxp/index.a...g&intro=si
It's an interactive map of Fiumicino. Skip the intro and it should give you an overall view of the airport.
Top left is the Satellite gate area where your plane will come in.
You can see the tram to take you to the main part of Terminal C.
If you click on the main part of terminal C, you can see three levels and on the ground level you'll see Passport Control and then Security Check. That is where you will go out of the secure area and there are exits in that area.
Can you get your friends to look at the site also and maybe you can decide on a place to meet.
Other features on the overall view of all the terminals are the train station (a long tube looking structure in the middle of the overall view.)
An office building (blue and white) to the left of the train station, Parking garages (gray, to the right of the train station), and the Hilton Hotel,a brown structure at the bottom of the picture, with a covered walk through the parking garages to the terminal.
Let me know if I can help more. My email is [email protected]

All the one from outside the European Union arrive there, I'm pretty sure. If you know the flight time and number, you can look on the www.adr.it website and see what terminal it comes into today and what the status is.
