Newark Airport
My girlfriend and I are meeting at the Newark Airport...she is flying from Switzerland on Continental and I on USAir from Pennsylvania. Does anybody have any recommendations on where we can meet inside the airport? I was not sure with customs if I could get to a place where I could meet her.
Thanks

Continental is at Terminal C, I would arrange to wait for her at Baggage claim - she will have already collected hers and gone past immigration and customs, but it's easy for her to go to baggage claim, and from there you go to take the train or whatever conveyance.
(To get to Penn Station in Manhattan - not Penn Station in New Jersey!) - take the free Airtrain to the RailLink station, buy the $15 tix for the New Jersey train (not the Amtrak trains, that costs double!), and off you go.)

Wrong information in that previous reply.
First, the GF is flying from Switzerland, so you can't meet her at her baggage claim, which is still inside customs.
Second, while most CO international arrivals come into Terminal C, both CO79 ZRH-EWR and CO81 GVA-EWR usually (but not absolutely necessarily) arrives at Terminal B and passengers will use the US immigration/customs at Terminal B.
USAirways use Terminal A at EWR. If you'll arrive before her, then meet at the customs exit of Terminal B. If she arrives first, then baggage claim area of Terminal A.

Okay, I think DalaiLlama means in his post going back into the regular domestic baggage claim of the terminal. But no point doing that, as she won't be waiting for bags there.
And again, she'll arrive at Terminal B most likely.

It's on the arrivals level of Terminal B. The problem is that there isn't any service/dining outside security at any of the terminals at EWR, so there's no really good meeting place for one person to wait for the other.
The customs exit at Terminal B is to the "left" side if you're facing the towards the gate/airplane, i.e. closer to Terminal C than A. It should be pretty easy to see as there are also Continental counters there to recollect connecting passengers' baggage.
But if DalaiLlama or others think there's a better place to meet at Terminal B, then that's totally fine with me too.
An interactive map of EWR Terminal B can be found here:

I'd recommend NOT meeting at Newark. Rather, travel to your hotel and meet there. I find Newark particularly confusing and annoying in that regard.
One option might be to meet at the Airtrain station where you pick up the NJ Transit train into Manhattan, but I'm not sure it would be a comfortable place to wait.

We definitely are meeting in Newark that is the reason we both got tickets to the same airport and arriving at the same time. I guess she could pick up a payphone and call me on my cell phone to let me know where to meet her. I don't want to travel to NYC by myself...would rather have her with me. Thanks for everybody's input.

Not true. There is a coffee shop, a food court type place, and a TGI Friday's outside of security in Terminal A. There are also a few places in Terminal B and a few coffee places in C (at the baggage claim area). If you go to airport website (http://www.panynj.gov/CommutingTrave...rkliberty.html) and click on terminal maps, you can get a nice interactive map showing the available services.

Good luck with the payphone idea...
No, seriously, make it easy on yourselves. Pick a spot where anybody can get to, without asking questions - either the check-in counters, or the baggage claim.
I know I know, I was misread before - she'll have done her baggage claim before customs, that's not why I'm suggesting this, but anybody can find the baggage claim area, even when stumbling off an aircraft dead tired, so there you go.
To make it easy on her - you figure out which is her arrival terminal, and you go to that terminal's baggage claim carousels - she shouldn't have to worry about which terminal - let her go to the baggage claim area of whichever terminal she lands at.
Simple enough?
And ask her "Bisch guet gflogge?" She'll like that.
