Rome connection and luggage
I can fly Air One from Venice to Rome with a three hour layover in Rome before my flight on United home to Washington Dulles. Air One and United do not have a luggage agreement so I will have to collect my bags in Rome and recheck for United. I have read many posts here about luggage taking an hour to arrive so I'm starting to think this is not the best option.
My other option is to leave Venice late by train or plane the night before my International flight and stay at the airport Hilton.
Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi T,
Your other option is to take the train to Rome the afternoon before and stay in Rome.
You certainly don't have to stay at the FCO Hilton.
Check the Holiday Inn EUR Parc Medici if you don't want to stay in the city. They have a shuttle bus to the airport.
