Rome - Borghese Gallery Reservations

Hello again...

The Borghese Gallery reservations site is showing hundreds of openings on the day we plan to go -- only two days from today.

It seems to me that an online reservation is unnecessary -- particularly since there are no refunds allowed should we change the time we want to go.

Am I right about this strategy?

Thanks.

You can probably get in without a reservation but why chance it if you only have so much time-all it takes is a few tour groups to take the tickets and you are screwed.Rome will start getting busy again as we hit December,FYI.

We showed up at 2:55 on December 23rd a few years ago and had no problem getting tickets for the 3:00 p.m. entry and audio guides.

In retrospect, we thought that was naive, but have had several friends report similar out of season experiences.

We reserved in advance and didn't need to pay for the tickets until arrival. We saw other people being turned away. If you don't have to pay in advance, why would you take a chance? Has something changed where you have to give payment?

Thanks, for the advice, all...

I wasn't sure I could reserve without paying.

I have now reserved a time, and can relax.

When I get to the Ticketeria. It site to make a reservation, the schedule only shows the Day but doesn't show the time. I did not want to make a reservation without knowing that I can get in the gallery in the morning.

When I clicked on the Date that I want, I came to the page asking for my name and family name ... I still didn't see the time choice, so I cancelled the reservation without moving on. Does anyone know how does one pick a time? Thanks a lot!!

If you're staying in a hotel, they would probably be happy to make this reservation for you
