Don't have a specific apartment to recommend, but you might want to check out www.romeby.com.

Try RentVillas.com - great selection of beautiful apartments. We were very pleased with the customer service, particularly when we arrived and had questions. They will usually pick you up at the airport and drive you back again.

I had great success this year with initaly.com. After securing my reservation (deposit could be made via credit card - rest I paid in cash) I had many more questions and always got a quick response.

You can also check sleepinitaly.com. When I rented from them two years ago, the apartment we ended up with was shown on several web sites, but their price was the lowest.

How long do you need it for and when?
I own a 2 bed apartment just off the campo dei fiori - recently re modernised but haven't got round to putting it on the rental market yet. In fact am not really sure if I should as it's full of antiques and books. It's just a thought.....

This past summer we rented the St. Peter apartment through www.comfortitalia.com.
We were about 5 blocks from the Vatican and 5 blocks from the river. Around the corner was a Catholic bookstore, a GREAT mom and pop restaurant with outdoor seats, a small store with drinks, pannies, pizza, etc, and a cafe with the best coffee/cap (see where the locals go). We had a washer and hung the clothes outside on the tiny balcony, air conditioning which was needed in late May, dishwasher,2 nice baths and 2 bedrooms. There is a tiny elevator in the building. We paid with Travel checks (make sure they will take them in writing).

Carrom,

Looking for availability: May 19-23, as we are attending a friends wedding. A family of four, including 4 adults.

Hi, my apartment has lift but no terrace. Ideally sleeps 2 adults and 1 0r 2 kids. There is a large dining-kitchen area, big living room with 2 windows looking out on Via dei Giubbonari, large double bedroom with en suite bathroom and a small room on the back with a comfortable sofa bed which turns into 2 singles or 1 double and separate bathroom. Can send pictures. If you are interested do e mail me: [email protected] I haven't really thought this out at all - it was just an idea!

Thanks for the info, carrom. Unfortunately I need two bedrooms for three adults, but it's good to know what you have available for other travelers.
