Rome and Almafi Coast 7 nights

Hello. I am planning (me and a friend- in our late 20s) a 7 night trip, first flying into Rome then heading straight to Almafi Coast. Looking for ideas of best area to stay and then do day trips from (interested in visiting Pompeii, Naples, Salerno, Capri, cooking class in Ravello and any other recommendations, but understand will prob not see all). Or if it is more efficient to move locations of hotels in the Almafi Coast area as we travel. We will then travel back to Rome for end of trip. With 7 nights total, which spot should we spend 4 in?
Trying to budget- so any ideas of hotels would be appreciated.
Thanks, have gotten some great ideas from reading other forums!

You could fly into Naples and out of Rome which would save you time and probably money. You could stay in Sorrento and Amalfi or any number of combinations.

You don't mention what time of year you're going.

You also don't mention what type of hotels. B&B's, full service, do you mind walking up steps, etc.

This B&B is in the center of town in Sorrento. The first picture on the website is just scenery somewhere in the AC area.

What time of year?

I also recommend flying into Naples and out of Rome.

Amalfi Coast is tiny - no need to move hotels - everything is close together. IMHO Rome deserves much more time than the Coast - but I am a history buff and bored by beaches.

We are going April 15-23. We are up for any of the above when it comes to accommodations- hoping to find reasonably priced places in good location.
Thanks!!!

Sorry I didn't read your post correctly. You asked for one village on the AC and then got to Rome.

Sorrento is central for where you want to go. The train is right there to go to Pompeii and Naples. The aliscafo is there for Capri and you can take the bus to Ravello and the other side of the AC.

The hotel I gave you before is clean and reasonable.

7 days is a really short time to get the AC and Rome in. You could spend 3 on the AC, 1 in Naples and 3 in Rome.
