We are two adults visiting Rome this June for about 3.5 days. Here is how we have planned to spend these days in Rome - would love to get suggestions from you all !

Day 1 - Arrive Rome around 4pm
* Piazza Venezia, Capitoline Hill, Piazza del Quirinale

Day 2
* Morning - Colloseum, Roman Forum, Imperial Forum
* Afternoon Siesta
* Evening - Trevi fountain, Piazza della Trinità dei Monti, Piazza di Spagna

Day 3
* Morning - Vatican City (Vatican Museums, St. Peter's Basilica, St. Peters Squre), Castel Sant'Angelo
* Afternoon Siesta
* Evening - Trastevere, Gianicolo Hill

Day 4
* Morning - Galleria Borghese, Piazza Barberini, Piazza Colonna, Pantheon, St. Peter In Chains
* Afternoon Siesta
* Evening - Rick Steve's Night Walk (Camp de’ Fiori - Piazza di Spagna)

How does this look like ? Any key sights\activities that we are missing and can easily add to our itinerary ? Please note that we dont have a car.

Love your siestas. We always sightsee in the morning, have a latish lunch, then go back to the hotel for a rest. When we brought our 14-year-old son to Italy, I explained this practice, thinking he would complain about having to take a nap like a baby. But, no, he accepted it as part of the local color. (Of course, he's half-Italian in descent; maybe siestas are in the blood.)

Your Day 3 looks a bit full in the morning. The Vatican museums are huge.

And do you have a reservation for the Borghese?

Sounds good. We spent 3 days in Rome and did the 4 walks in the AA explorer guide to Rome. Found this to be an excellent way of seeing the main sights but also some of the lesser known back streets.

I agree that your day three is pretty full. After seeing St. Peter's and the Museums, I doubt you'll have energy for Castel Sant'Angelo too. St. Peter in Chains is between Piazza Venezia and the Colosseum so it might make sense to see it on either day 1 or 2.

Thanks all .. as of now, we dont have a reservation for the Borghese Gallery but are planning on getting one in the next couple of weeks (hope its not too late for that !).

For Day 3, we'll probably move Sant'Angelo out and try to squeeze it into another day.

Any "must-see" sights that we might be missing from the list ? All the usual suspects are here - but any tips on lesser known sites that you found to be great ?

You may want to consider taking the short train ride to the Pyramid and the adjacent cemetery which is very gardenlike and beautiful. In this same area you can also see portions of the ancient Roman wall. From there we walked to the Baths of Caracalla
