restaurants near Angel tube

Hello!

Can anyone recommend an inexpensive (pasta dishes under ten pounds) Italian eatery around the Angel or Old Street tubes? I'm pretty low-brow when it comes to food, so a nice chain place is okay.

Thanks!

As you come out of Angel tube station and turn right, you will come across tens, no hundreds of reasonably priced restaurants, from small bistros, ethnic eateries to chain pizza and pasta places. Angel is in Islington, which is a food and drink mecca for the under 35s. It really is hard to know where to start because there's so much choice in the cheaper price range. Your best bet is to wonder up Upper Street and look at the menus - you WON"T be short of choice. Vietnamese, Afghan, Thai, Indian, Italian, French, Spanish Tapas, Cuban, Turkish, the choice is unbelievable in this area.

Thanks, Kate, it sounds like you're familiar with the area. Are there any that you would recommend? Although I'm not shy about just reading the menu outside and making my decision that way.

Look at the menus in Upper St - there's a Cuban place if you like that sort of thing?

So many places, all "not bad"!

It's a fast changing scene in Islington, and I haven't been a regular in that part of town for a couple of years so my info isn't up to date, but this website will give you a good overview of what's available:

forgot to add, walkinaround, you're thinking of Ruby in the Dust, which is one place I've never tried.
