Restaurants in Parma

We will be in Parma for a few days in June. Looking for restaurant recommendations.
Thanks in advance.

I thought the best tip I recently saw posted on this forum is ask the local food market vendors. They know who buys the best stuff.

Parma is beautiful. If you have time, you might enjoy a bus trip to the amazing castle of Torrechiara. Ask your hotel which bus to take. The castle is closed Mondays.

Has Torrechiara reopened since the damage from the earthquake?

My husband and I stumbled upon Trattoria Corrieri some years back and have returned whenever we visit Parma. It is located on via Conservatorio #1 in the midst of music studios. You can hear arias floating out opened windows - very lovely!

The restaurant is moderately priced and serves Parma ham that hasn't been equaled anywhere else on our trips to Italy. Go, go, go!!!

Oh yes, the trattoria has a website - www.trattoriacorrieri.it

We like two restaurants: Gallo d'Oro at Borgo della Salina 3 and Ristorante Pizzeria Al Corsario, Via Cavour 37. Don't miss seeing the La Pilotta museum while you are in Parma, with its amazing theatre reconstruction.
