Restaurants in Nice, St. Paul, Antibes

Hi, all,

I am leaving for France in a month and am just looking for some last minute tips on your favorite restaurants on the Riviera (nice in particular). Have done a search on Nice restaurants, but the search engine interprets Nice as "nice" and is not very helpful. Will be staying in Nice for 3 nights but venturing out on day trips. Looking for dinner places in the $20-$40/person range including wine; lunch places in the $15-25 range. Any and all types of food suggestions welcome.

Many thanks.

John H.

Spent a month there, and one of our favorite restaurants was Merande ?? (la) It is on a side street off the Cours Saleya. Small restaurant with an excellent chef and menu that changes daily/weekly. Not expensive, but just plain excellent.

The name is La Merenda : 4 rue de la terasse, no reservations, just get there early. Lots of other rest. in the Vieux Nice area, a short walk from Cours Saleya (some very touristy, some excellent)

Also in St Paul de Vence we liked the "Le Saint-Paul" a relais-Chateau hotel with a nice outdoor restaurant overlooking the valley below, a bit pricy, but better for lunch .The other rst. Colombe d'or, was too pretentious- did not like the maitre'd's attitude, so we left. In Antibes: "Le Brulot"
